The Box
An Audio-Visual Journey into Social Justice
As part of the MediaWorks team, I collaborated closely with the visual department over a seven-month production cycle to bring The Box—an animated adaptation of the powerful story by Soma Mei Frazier and Arisa White—to life. This project transcended creative storytelling, shedding light on systemic issues within the youth incarceration system and the exploitation of inmate labor.
My role spanned multiple areas of audio production. I directed and recorded voice talent sessions, ensuring authentic and emotionally resonant performances—while also contributing as a voice actor. Additionally, I co-led the sound design process, crafting an immersive sonic landscape that amplified the narrative’s impact and supported the film’s visual tone.
