“It Wont Be Long” – Turning Silence into Story
Reimagining sound to reshape emotion.
BEFORE
AFTER
It Won’t Be Long was the directorial debut of filmmaker Devin Altman, and I was brought in during the final stretch of post-production with one mission: to completely reimagine the film’s audio experience. With no access to ADR or re-recordings, I worked solely with the provided assets and raw production dialogue. Over the course of two weeks, I handled every element of the film’s soundscape—editing and restoring dialogue, rebuilding environmental ambience, crafting foley from scratch, designing impactful sound effects, and curating the music selection. Given the time constraints, we relied on stock music, but I reviewed each track with care and selected pieces that seamlessly supported the tone, pacing, and emotion of each on-screen moment.
The result was a total audio transformation that elevated the film’s narrative and emotional impact. My mix brought a previously flat cut to life, helping the story resonate more deeply with its audience. The film went on to be selected for the Bright Ideas Film Festival (Winter 2021) and received glowing feedback from both the director and festival judges. This project demonstrates my ability to creatively problem-solve under pressure, collaborate with a clear vision, and deliver cinematic-quality results—skills that translate directly into interactive storytelling, immersive environments, and game audio production.

Awards & Recognition
Selected to the Bright Ideas Film Festival Winter 2021
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ronald D’Souza many times, but the most memorable instance was during the month of December 2021. Through nonstop working on his end, and many sleepless nights of collaborative work between each other, we managed to get the film submitted exactly on the deadline. Not only was it accepted into the festival, it went on to receive awards from other reputable festivals and institutions as well. Without Ronald’s commitment to the craft, steadfast work attitude, and his ability to maintain levity in high stress situations, we wouldn’t have gotten the project done in time. I am very grateful to have worked with him, will continue to work with him, and recommend him to everyone looking for an experienced audio engineer.”
